6 March 2017, Mission Meeting & Poetry

This morning we had our usual 9 am Monday morning office meeting with the President and Sorella Allen.  We have a hymn, prayer, spiritual thought, review the week and what's going on within the mission.  It usually lasts about an hour. Today the office anziani all showed up in new ties they bought, on sale, at Boggi in Milano, on Saturday, so we had to have a pix.
From left to right, Anziani: Simmons (secretary), Hogan (archivist), APs: Pyper & Brooks.
Sorella Allen wanted Anz Pyper to pose his "modeling" look, which she tried to photograph, but it was so funny it didn't work very well.

Anyway, we generally have access to all the emails that come into the mission. They remain in the general inbox until someone, occasionally us, puts them in the individual inboxes, e.g., ours, office elders, APs, president's, etc.  I may get the most emails, because missionaries email me when they need reimbursements (rimborsi).  I get anywhere from 3 to 33 emails every day, including weekends. Sorella Hoopes also gets lots of emails from missionaries who send her scans of their permit forms, actual permessi, etc. (She rejoices when she gets a permisso.)  This morning, after the office meeting, I enjoyed reading an email, which wasn't for me, that I decided that I wanted to save for future remembrance. I don't know how to save it so I could find it again, except to copy it into this blog. I deleted PPI, using healthcare acronym, so I suppose it's okay for anyone to also enjoy.

The assistants to the president sent out an email, in poetry, (on the bottom) asking missionary leaders to recommend other missionaries to become leaders, and this was a response they received, also in poetry, from a couple of sorelle.

Le Sorelline (the little sisters)

In Vicenza the sorelline are doing okay
Still pretty young but attacking the day
We wouldn't suggest an STL yet
But in the future, that you can bet.

In Mestre there's been a valiant struggle
Their doing their best in the land of the muggle
Not yet STL to be found of this pair
Give them some time, love, food, and care.

Modena' Sorelle seem to be fine
Invested much in this work divine.
Sor. B has shown much grand potenziale
Being STL would be right up her viale. (rhymes with potenziale)

Reggio Emilia grows in God's Graces
This little group is a couple of aces.
Great leaders are growing in this little town,
One day soon they could be mission'ries of renown.

We hope you enjoy this lovely report
Our brethren of this mighty cohort.
May God guide our leader in his mighty decision
In this awesome Milano 300* mission.

(*our mission goal is to baptize 300 before the Rome temple opens.)

 A Simple Poem regarding Recommendations

Today, today, today is the day.
We need recommendations, coming our way.
From Torino to Mestre, we are depending on you.
From Firenze to Como, yeah we need yours too.
If you cannot tell, we love you lots.
That’s why we very much need your suggestions and thoughts.
Keep it short and informative. That would be neat.
If there are any problems? give us the meat.
We are here to help, and we want best for all.
Let’s all do our best and respond to the call.
Zone Leaders, who in your zone could possibly train?
Any DL’s or ZL’s that could fit the domain?
STL’s, how you doing, and what do you think?
Any STL’s in the making, or STL’s on the brink?
Please respond speedily, at the latest Sunday Night.
If you do it I promise your futures will be bright.
Let us go forward, and let us break free.
Soring over mountains, from sea to shining sea.
That’s it for now, we done did it and done it.
For all you Milano missionaries out there, keep it  Milano three hunnit.

For those of you who are not fans of  poetry. I will type it out in fine print.

Zone Leaders please let us know who you think could train, become district leader, or become zone leader.  Sister Training Leaders let us know who you think could become Sister Training Leader. (Unfortunately, there are no sister coming in this transfer so we don’t need you to recommend sisters to train because there are no sisters to train).  If there are any problems or situations going on in companionships please let us know so we can help get all missionaries where they need to be!

Thank you for all you do! We love you very much! If you need anything give us a call (we mean that) Have a wonderful day :)
